He stated, as quoted above, that Twitter is “part of the problem.” After this followed some examples of platform partisanship:
Twitter blocked Representative Marsha Blackburn from advertising her Senate campaign launch video because it featured a pro-life message. Before that, during the so-called Day of Action, Twitter warned users that a link to a statement by one company on the topic of Internet regulation “may be unsafe.” And to say the least, the company appears to have a double standard when it comes to suspending or de-verifying conservative users’ accounts as opposed to those of liberal users. This conduct is many things, but it isn’t fighting for an open Internet.
In this way, edge providers are a much bigger actual threat to an open Internet than broadband providers, especially when it comes to discrimination on the basis of viewpoint… So let’s be clear. They might cloak their advocacy in the public interest, but the real interest of these Internet giants is in using the regulatory process to cement their dominance in the Internet economy.
It’s all about identity politics with Republicans, isn’t it.

On Tuesday, Twitter changed its mind. Blackburn can now promote the video, in which the self-described “hardcore, card carrying Tennessee conservative” talked about her efforts to stop “the sale of baby body parts,” in a reference to Planned Parenthood.
“After further review, we have made the decision to allow the content in question from Rep. Blackburn’s campaign ad to be promoted on our ads platform,” a Twitter spokesperson said in an email to Recode. “While we initially determined that a small portion of the video used potentially inflammatory language, after reconsidering the ad in the context of the entire message, we believe that there is room to refine our policies around these issues. We have notified Rep. Blackburn’s campaign of this decision."
So much for those end users censoring content. How dare they inconvenience a Republican from making money from proudly lying to the American people.

This in particular is so egregiously stupid. Comparing a site (or a “platform” if you want you get really generous) like Twitter to the backbone providers and ISPs? It’s like they want it both ways with the first amendment, deregulation, and free markets.

Breitbart just gave me a pop-up telling me that I needed to install “Genuine Microsoft drivers”. An obvious malware install ploy.
Their ad-rotation is a deplorable hive of scum and villainy, but I wonder if it was targeted specifically at my machine by Breitbart? If it happens again, I’ll dig into it, wearing my dark grey hat.

The thing I find least Christian about this is that Moore refers to Socialism as “putting man above God,” meaning that Moore must literally turned the market into a golden calf proxy for the Christian God. Even a basic church-goer is expected to reject any sort of language like that beyond the maddening idea that LGBT cabals are conspiring against Moore.

While this makes for a wonderful headline, Alabama is not a state that automatically disqualifies felons from voting (only for so-called “crimes of moral turpitude”).
So, who the fuck cares if felons are registering to vote? There’s nothing illegal about that.

Tangentially, I stumbled across this recently:
Australians sentenced to three or more years in prison cannot vote, but this only applies while they are serving their sentence. Once released, their vote is restored. The only crime that can get you permanently disenfranchised here is treason.
We have voting booths in prisons for the use of those prisoners serving shorter sentences.

Disenfranchisement of convicted felons is just the top of the list of ills inflicted upon those convicted in the US. For people wondering why recidivism is so high, look no further than the question on every job application I’ve ever seen: “Have you been convicted of a felony?” That category of crime used to be reserved for murder and the like, now drug possession and aggravated assault are felonies.
