I suspect that GE is not the only blue chip that is in almost every IRA and 401K and pension fund that has funky accounting.
I have a feeling that the reason we have had such a long booming economy is many of these blue chip companies know that funky accounting is widespread, and none of them want to be the one cause it the boom to pop.
I’m not saying everyone is using deceptive accounting tricks to the same degree. Just that I don’t trust massive corporations that their primary business function is financial services.
