The language used by contemporary Christian warriors

Aroundabouts 2001. There was (is) also a “Warrior Creed” that Soldiers were obliged to learn and recite. I always found it weird.

“Warrior” also reminds me of this everytime, I hear it.

Here’s one in 1998.

Probably not the first use of the ideology in that context, but it predates 2001, so…

This is why @angusm and I recall an uptick in the use of “Warrior” in the early 2000’s it was part of a rebranding campaign called “Task Force Soldier”

The current version of the Soldier’s Creed is a product of the ‘Warrior Ethos’ program authorized by the then Army Chief of Staff Eric K. Shinseki in May 2003.[1] It was written by members of Task Force Soldier’s Warrior Ethos Team, and was first approved in its current format by the next Army Chief of Staff Peter Schoomaker on 13 November 2003. The introduction of the Soldier’s Creed kicked off a campaign known as ‘Task Force Soldier’. This is a leadership commitment to soldiers ensuring they are prepared for combat and embody the Warrior Ethos contained in the Soldier’s Creed.[2] It seems to have been discussed in Congress in a ‘Hearing on Army Issues’ held by Senator John W. Warner on or about 19 November 2003
