I really liked that series.
Every time The Oblongs is brought up I feel the need to mention Duckman. The two are forever in my mind side-by-side as less good and more adult versions of The Simpsons.
This is still Will Ferrell’s best work.
This really was a great show and one of the few times I’ve actually enjoyed Will Farrell.
It was based on a book, which was similar to Tim Burton’s Oyster Boy book and Edward Gorey.
Oblongs was really good, but as mentioned above so was Duckman.
We did not deserve Duckman. There’s an episode where he thinks the world has ended and does some spectacularly dumb shit. Just a delight. And his buddy, Cornfed was the voice of the protagonist in Deux Ex.
I liked Duckman as well. Pity the creators went with a cliffhanger in what proved to be the last episode.
This was indeed a good show that was entirely too short lived.
This is so common now that I have been trying to accept it as a standard feature of serial TV as an art form—everything ends with a cliffhanger, NBD
