And they’re all made of ticky-tacky, and they all look the same.

Can you imagine coming home drunk and not being able to find your house because they’re all alike?

I’ve plodded through my share of suburbian hellscapes and it is my considered opinon that this must be a common occurrance.

A Republican being honest for once.

And, they’re also right about voter fraud.

After exiting the White House Meadows took a position as senior partner at the Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI), which promotes “election integrity” efforts. He gave a speech at CPI’s Election Integrity Summit in Atlanta on Feb. 19. Then just three weeks later, according to records obtained by The Washington Post, Meadows and his wife, Debra, submitted registrations to vote in North Carolina - all while being registered to vote in Virginia and South Carolina.

He says the left are moral relativists? WTF? At least we have a fucking platform, and a moral compass. So infuriating that people eat this crap up. :woman_facepalming:t2:

Photographs obtained by POLITICO appear to show Madison Cawthorn, the embattled Republican congressman from North Carolina who recently accused his GOP colleagues of inviting him to orgies, wearing lingerie in what appears to be a party setting.

Is it possible to add blur tags to a thumbnail photo in linked articles?

That said, that man has a lot to be ashamed of but partying in lingerie is his own business. (Unless he’s doing some of the shit that J Edgar Hoover did, blackmailing colleagues for similar behavior to what he’s doing himself)

For most people, sure. But if Madison Cawthorn didn’t want to get publicly called out for that kind of thing he shouldn’t have declared war on trans people and made ridiculous speeches about maintaining rigid gender roles.

I DGAF what people wear. Be yourself. But given the way this rotten-canker-sore-masquerading-as-a-human has treated people, I’m going to take a nice long soak in the bath-bomb of shadenfreude.

Modeling after Donald Trump’s mob-like instinct to punish companiesthat offended him, politicians running red states have begun boycotting corporations to retaliate for policies aimed at protecting the planet. The once-unthinkable notion of Republicans using their government power to attack big business prompted the conservative Washington Examiner to tout its “alternative coverage” on the subject:

“Republican-led states are pushing back against firms that try to curb use of fossil fuels,” the newspaper proclaimed in advance of Earth Day last week. “Pressure has been building on companies to follow environmental, social, and governance standards from both the private sector and the government.

“Because much of that pressure involves businesses’ handling of carbon emissions and the fossil fuel industry, policymakers in some oil- and coal-heavy states are actively working against major investors and businesses.”

They really do just want to take the whole planet down with them.

The right’s solution to young people challenging the status quo of racism and the Vietnam War during the 1960s and ‘70s was to end free or low public university tuition, create a student loan regime that makes it harder for the indebted to challenge the system, and to push “workforce development” over liberal education. Yet that still didn’t stop younger generations from, on the whole, embracing more tolerance — and so since those George Floyd marches the white gloves are completely off.

The true meaning of the Disney move is that today’s conservatives will do anything to maintain social control, including dropping any last, thin pretenses of supporting the Bill of Rights or the other pillars of American democracy. In 2022, they will throw away books, destroy the lives of teachers, and deliberately prevent your child from learning — anything to keep the arc of a moral universe from bending toward justice. They are embracing fascism not because they are winning, but because modernity is winning and they are losing. This is no time to cede the high ground. There is no math textbook that can calculate the moral price of losing this fight.

These fucking coal-rolling assholes. They’re like the human equivalent of shit-flinging gibbons at the zoo, but with far less justification for their aggression.
