One of the most haunting things (for me) that should belong in this supercut is the scenes of the buildings crumbling into the sea in Inception. But it’s not a post-apocalyptic movie, so I guess it doesn’t count.
We’re like a week or so from that reality.
That’s ridiculous.
Trump doesn’t get inaugurated for another month!
And as a prequel, the apocalypse itself:
Coming soon to a planet near you!
That moment in “Fury Road” where Furiosa grieves on the sand dune…HFS.
I’m not crying, you’re crying!
Not post-apocalyptic, but you could insert that line from “Unforgiven” at the end:
"Well, I guess they had it coming. . . "
“We all have it coming, kid.”
I have to admit, I’ve been thinking about “The Road” an awful lot lately.
“Once there were brook trout in the streams in the mountains. You could
see them standing in the amber current where the white edges of their
fins wimpled softly in the flow. They smelled of moss in your hand.
Polished and muscular and torsional. On their backs were vermiculate
patterns that were maps of the world in its becoming. Maps and mazes. Of
a thing which could not be put back. Not be made right again. In the
deep glens where they lived all things were older than man and they
hummed of mystery.”
