What about the process of scarfing a hand-marbled silk stun?
/stares at wall for a while
Anyway marbling is fun to do at home and can (and should) be applied to many things including 3D objects. It’s one of those things where it’s not exactly easy or difficult, so much as that the knack is in learning to appreciate what you get, rather than pushing for a specific result.
Top tip: do lots of practice prints on big sheets of plain-colored wrapping paper, which you can then use to wrap gifts.
Although professional marblers can reproduce patterns to an astonishing degree. Especially for book restoration that is useful, because they can make endpapers and covers that match the original.

A number of my dad’s silk neckties must have been made like that. I love to wear them, but there are fewer occasions these days.
