I found the voice simply irritating.

Me too. I think I came across him recently in another link on BB and commented then that his vocal style was very annoying. I simply could not get beyond about 60 seconds of this one before losing the will to live.

It is mentioned in the video. It has to be said that the video content was very cool but… that constantly scrolling bokeh background was a severe pain on the eyes (and the later starfield not much better) the narrator’s vocal ‘style’ was almost designed to induce sleep. No variation - every sentence had exactly the same cadence - it was like listening to someone reading a list. Which is pretty much what the script was - a list of facts. I wonder if the voice reading the list is actually a robotic one. Mainly taking into consideration the overly monotone voice and the odd pauses it’d lead me to believe so
