The big crack running across the point where the Pulpit attaches to the cliff adds to my terror.

Norway is a beautiful country. I think I’d pass on this one, though. Go to Bergen instead. It’s pretty, and not at all scary.

Took a hike along the top of some cliffs recently and was fine.

Trying to get to sleep later, all the vertigo that didn’t happen when I was actually at the top of the cliff flooded my system every time I closed my eyes.

That happened to me too! I went along with Kiddo rock climbing at her first bigger walls—I belay her, don’t climb myself—and I had such a bad night afterward. I mentioned it to a few of the people she climbs with, and all were “never heard of that.”
Glad I’m not the only one to have had that experience!

In my teens I did some climbing in the Rockies. One day we reached a summit and I ate my lunch with my feet dangling over a cliff edge. 5 years later I woke up in a cold sweat with my heart racing.

Seems that there’s a dress code on that rock?

In my case, it would have to include brown trousers.

Yeah. I’m not scared of heights.
I’m scared of depths.

With things like this there’s an easy trick to visiting them safely: don’t stand on the rock on the day it decides to drop.
