I would care about both those articles whether they were on Gawker or not.

Maybe we should start a support fund for her? Campaign for the post-event anonymisation and protection of racist PR Directors.

I mean people saying mean things on the internet about people that say mean things? What has the world come to!

You could have read through her other tweets… before she deleted them all.

As with Adria Richards situation. Yes, she gave her company a PR black eye. That is obviously a serious failure on her part in her job responsibilities. I think that meets the requirements for termination with cause.

That being said, I know nothing of her role at that company or her past contributions there. I think the company would know better than any of us, if she was worth giving a second chance to. Obviously this was a pretty egrigious mistake on her part. But it’s always costly to replace members of your team, especially if they have been there a while and function well.

So, yes, she’s a big girl and she should be held responsible for her actions by her employer. But, I totally feel for her. As I said people screw up. And I’d feel bad for anyone being fired before the holiday season. Regardless of how deserved or undeserved it might be.

Call it the Rob Ford syndrome.

I will not strike my earlier remarks made in this thread but today knowing she was in flight during the brewhaha, I feel lest happy about derailing her actions.

Script Writers are no doubt in the brain tank dreaming up the spin on this self effimating experience turns a seemingly innocuous flight, into a world never thought of being scorn on the landing. Living a Real life Richard Bachman novel.

Well ladies and gentlemen, let us be less eager too criticize and more eager too enable.

Thank you and good night.

I think Breitbart has gone full ‘platform’, so that’s basically someone’s blog post.

Pretty tight demographic. Tangential to the topic at hand. Were I African, I’d be pissed at the casual racism.

If you google ‘What’s the most offensive thing L_Mariachi (or anyone) ever said?’, verbatim, you’ll just get Yahoo answers, which will be unhelpful. And half the answers will probably be racist.

If she becomes a cause cÊlèbre for the likes of Fox and jumps on that bandwagon, then her anguished apology will have meant nothing.

Yep. Germans have good words for a lot of the fun emotions.

Um, no, that’s not what she was doing. She was drawing attention to herself, and using racism to do it. Bad for her.

There’s actually a lot being done. There’s still a long way to go, but the rates of infection overall are way down, the rates of treatment are way up, millions are surviving with the virus, many more infants are being born HIV free. The global effort has been, overall, pretty impressive, especially in the last decade as effective treatments have been devised–not perfect of course, but not to be dismissed, either. Treatments are more effective, cheaper to produce, and more wide-spread every year. Not saying more can’t be done, but the implication that the rest of the world, and the US in particular, is just twiddling their thumbs is just plain wrong.

^^ Speculation, and thinking the worst of people. (Whereas mine is speculation and thinking the best of people). (Mine is better).

Better for you, but not me. I prefer “most likely” to “best outcome.”
