“What did you expect? I put a neck on the fish.”
This Big Mouth Billy Bass bass guitar slaps
spoiler/tldw: it doesn’t
Simon always has a fun time trying admittedly bad ideas. And generally does a good job making a song using cheap, found and DYI experiments. I enjoy his chaos but can understand why it’s not for everyone.
ETA: The more interesting thing here is not the janky DYI it’s that a growing number of musicians are supporting themselves not with music sales (nobody buys music any more) and not with live music (pandemic and live gigs could be sleazy before covid) but by recording themselves in the studio both succeeding and failing to make music (and then paying the bills with the video ad revenue). As someone that spent the 90’s alone in my home studio trying to make some music worth of publishing it’s interesting to me seeing this studio time being worth more than a full mastered album.
And of course there are many variations on this. I watch some wood working / lathe operators that can sell a hand made bowl once but the video of making the bowl can continue to bring in revenue for as long as people are mesmerized by spinning wood.
So no longer a Big Mouth Billy Bass, it’s now a Big Mouth Billy Bass, except the second time Bass is pronounced like Bass as in Bass guitar.
Jokes are funniest when they’re well explained.
bass guitar
all I hear is treble
Homographs are stupid.
I thought it was pronounced “bass” but now you’re saying it’s pronounced “bass”? Shit, is it “bass” or “bass”? I’ll just have to assume it’s ‘bass’ and try not to correct people when they say “bass”.
You have it exactly backwards. Better luck next time.
