Opened in 1984, Trump’s former casino was closed in 2014 and has fallen into such a state of disrepair that demolition work began earlier this year.

Er, Obama is rich enough he could plop down a hefty sum that would go to charity and grant him the privilege. But he won’t do it because that would be crass and divisive.

Even though Obama wouldn’t do it, I expect Trump will Parler (since he’s almost certainly going to be banned from Twitter by then) conspiracy theories about the winning bidder being a nom de guerre for Obama, Hillary Clinton, President Biden, or some secret cabal of two or more of them.
I would love to see one of Ivana Trump, Marla Maples, Mary Trump, or Stormy Daniels win the auction (or be given the privilege of pushing the button by whoever actually makes the winning bid.)

“I made a lot of money and got out.” Wow. Two big tells there. First of all that implies there was no more money to be made there (aka sour grapes.) Secondly we know his casino failed, so if he made a profit it means he bilked somebody.

It really, really should be done at the same time as the inauguration, with the button being pushed as soon as Biden finishes taking the oath. Then giffed and memed every single time that human opens his mouth or mashes his twitter thumb.

I would suggest that the honor should go to Stacey Abrams.
Her hard work and organizational brilliance was able to deliver a Georgia victory to Joe Biden (and a possible delivery of the Senate to the Dems). Blowing up a Trump building would be a suitable reward for her success.
