There was that other guy, but he shouldn’t have poked it with a stick!

Now I look at this, and I see that there are no meteorites in space. Only asteroids. So meteorites seem to need oxygen in order to survive. If there was some way to get the oxygen out of people, maybe an injection, or by sucking it out of the lungs with a light… then we could prevent meteorites from hitting people. I don’t know. But the doctors, they should take a look at it.

On a related note, there were many weapons made from meteorites. It’s not beyond reason that someone was killed with one of those weapons.

In the files of things falling from above and hitting people, my daughter managed to literally get ‘clocked’ over the weekend, walking into the kitchen the clock decided to leap from its happy perch and give her what for on the noggin. Not sure what caused it to decide exactly then to do so, but some laughter and some head soreness ensued.

More people in the 19th century were killed by meteorites than by COVFEFE-19.

A whole, entire, complete century. Nobody ever locked down their society to prevent that.

Another hoax revealed.

I’ll have to hunt down the rest of that Adam Savage video. I want to see if he handles the problem of working meteoric iron without any iron tools. (Stone anvil and a lot of bronze hammers?)

eta: Nope, definitely not using pre-iron age tools. Hm, wait! That’s a video of a previous Excalibur that he made. He’s in a bit of a rut.

OK, so now I know if one is coming at me, I should definitely dodge it.

See? You learn stuff on this site.

Here’s King Tutankhamun’s dagger. Analysis shows iron/nickel/cobalt, confirming it’s from a meteorite.

In 1900, a guy named Ludvig Lundström died from a meteorite strike in Kvavisträsk 60 or so km inland from where I am typing this.
