Since when do “game nights” typically feature chess?
Why not? It’s just a board game. I think it’s mostly a US thing that sees chess as this scary thing that shouldn’t be approached by anyone who isn’t a super genius. When I was traveling in Eastern Europe I was struck on how many people seemed to be playing chess just for fun. It’s a game, enjoy it!
