No, it’s not, Gail Sherman; as I don’t have the app and refuse to frequent the site itself when other people link to it.
If I ever see a TikTok, it’s because it got reposted elsewhere.
No shade to anyone who uses the platform; I’m just paranoid about my data.

I never cared for tiktok - at least half the time I can’t even get at the video, portrait mode seriously annoys me,* trying to repost their videos anywhere proved imposs for me 99% of the time, too many “influencers,” and isn’t it mostly teenagers using it? etc etc etc.
Most tiktok vids I see are on tumblr and here on BoingBoing. I’ve had so much trouble accessing vids on the site itself, I quit trying.
Also, what @Melizmatic said above re: privacy!
*Countless times I’ve yelled, "If you’d filmed this in landscape, I’d be able to see what you’re talking about!"

My mother broke me of ever saying that I’m bored, pretty young too. Bored kids got to do chores assigned by mom, so we all learned to entertain ourselves and each other.

I never had kids, but you can bet if I did they would never be bored because I’m just an overgrown kid, working on projects all the time. We’d be out in the woods building forts or out in the garage building go-karts.
(And for the record, I actually kind of like John Cage, despite my snarky comment about him.)
