Four students found dead near University of Idaho campus after school warns of homicide
It doesn’t say shooting- but I’m going to assume.
Second guess — with an unconscious person, maybe someone tampered with the gas heater and poisoned everybody?
I assumed that as well.
Keeping the university theme going.
Woke up to the emergency alerts on my phone. Bridewater, JMU, now UVA. Eastern Mennonite is the only one to not have a mass shooting in the last few months. Damn, i hate this timeline.
A hoax, but active shooters reported at 10 schools in Maine today. Sanford High is less than 5 miles from me- I drove past while police were securing the campus and parents were trying to sneak in through the hiking trails.
Follow up- it was an edged weapon.

No idea if this will be useful, is another law enforcement grift or what.
Based on previous experiences with programs of this ilk, it will not be useful, and it is another grift.
Fuck…
Yet more stochastic terrorism. Feed people an ideology of hatred, give them easy access to guns and then “these things just happen”.
The poisonous ideas behind this crime have no place in civil society.
God dammit. Club Q is a pretty central part of both the queer and punk scenes in the springs. This is really awful and it makes me fear for the people that I know down there who frequent and who run venues that are open and welcoming to marginalized communities (and there are a lot more of those places than you might expect). Things are less safe every day, it seems. I still don’t know if anyone I know was injured, but regardless this is a monstrous attack on the community
When you consider how right wing Colorado Springs has been, for a very long time, the fact that they targeted Club Q is maddening and horrifying, but not surprising.
That’s part of what is sad about this - in the last 20 years Colorado springs has gone to reliably blue. When I moved there in 2002 it was a nightmare hellscape of Focus on the Family inspired awfulness. Now it is a little bit more conservative than Denver, but not much. But there are still a few festering enclaves of hate that cling to life…and this is the result
2nd Amendment fundamentalism and right-wing bigotry come together once again. Overcoming the latter is obviously a difficult and long-term project, but addressing the former might result in fewer dead LGBTQ people (and BIPOC, and Jewish people, and liberals and progressives, etc.)
Gets reported daily, still free to post hate on Twitter. Because it’s transphobic and the new regime approves.
