A truck was stolen with 3 tons of ammunition. No weapons are believed to be on board, so I guess we dont’ have to worry about that either…

They may mean the rifles had stripper clips (speedloaders).
I’m with you on sloppy definitions; this could be an especially egregious misuse of terminology when it comes from a police department press release. They are supposed to know the difference between a clip and a magazine.

Which is why I’m surprised he did it. I’m old enough to remember the first time. People generally in favour, then stories of the abuses started to come in. A stain on PET’s reputation for the most part.
