I actually pay for YouTube premium to get ad-free.
Not sure if it will get rid of this though.
If it doesn’t, looks like I won’t be giving any further money to youtube.

Only apologize after the check has cleared.
Psh, nothing adblock can’t fix. Unless you use the YT mobile app, then you’re SOL.
There are ads on Youtube?
(checks) Oh, right, my ad blockers. Carry on.
uBlock origin, thanks.
This article explains why we’re actually deeply fucked:
… and even though everyone here is dislocating their shoulder clapping themselves on the back for having an ad blocker, I truly worry about stuff like this, as
Take this seriously. It’s not just about you.
think about how many billions of dollars all the candidates are draining from the economy, how many millions of people who really need health care could have gotten it
where the hell does all this media money go anyway, all these corporations aren’t paying any taxes anymore
the problem is even if the dems somehow got full control of all three branches, they’d still never change the laws, they want to play this game for some stupid reason
As an outside observer: there is no stand out “Obama like” star among the Democrat contenders. It seems like a very mediocre line up and I wonder if the Democrats are organized enough to take Trump on.
First of all, what you’re saying makes no sense. Obama was not a great president, he was a great campaigner. Yes, he was the first African American president. He was also the African American president who stood by and let many horrible things happen, including losing Merrick Garland’s Supreme Court seat, losing governorships, senators and statehouses across the country, watching Citizens United get passed, presiding over a giveaway to the for-profit health care system called Obamacare and generally being so nice and likable that he got mugged and rolled every time he stepped out of the Oval Office. The only thing a Democrat needs to win is a free and fair election and people willing to vote for them. This Facebook fuckery is explicitly designed to imperil both. if you can’t bring yourself to vote for one of the democratic candidates because quote they’re not charismatic enough, then you’re not a Democrat. You’re just a Republican who hasn’t been forced to declare their complicity until now.
Seriously, dude, if you think that Barack Obama was a great president, I hope Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s ghost shows up at your house tonight and slaps you.
This is the point. He was a great campaigner. Out of the current candidates only Sanders comes close but he would be almost 90 at the end of his presidency.
As I said: I am speaking as an outsider. I am not a US voter.
Bernie will be 82, DT would be 77 and Elizabeth Warren 74 and Biden 81. Does it really matter, or is it their ideas and enthusiasm that count? People are just living allot longer these days. Even just in the last two or three decades, medical advances have changed aging dramatically and will do so exponentially more in the coming twenty years. Our traditional thoughts on aging are already pretty antiquated.
And all things said, Bernie is a firecracker and he’s got some good ideas. I think he’ll will be fine.
It is a good point.
People with the knowhow to block ads are very unlikely to ever vote for Trump, these ads are instead aimed at everyone else and they will likely see them…
I find this far less worrisome than most. As most Republican presidents have shown, you don’t need to be a stand out campaigner to win. You just need to suppress Democratic voters while energizing your racist base.
Unfortunately, the GOP will find it hard as fuck this time around to keep Democrats home. Already there are signs of another huge blue wave coming this fall, regardless of who wins. It’s enough for folks to simply vote against Trump. The ONLY way this blows up for the Dems is if they walk into a contested convention in late summer with Sanders in the lead but no candidate with a high enough total of delegates to win outright, and they install Biden, Buttigiege, or some other candidate. That would be the death knell for the Dems in November, not the paucity of inspiring candidates (although personally I find Warren very inspiring once we get beyond the usual shill accounts attacking her as “shrill” and “fake indian” and so on).
My guess is that campaign propaganda in the paid version, if it manages to get through, would manifest itself as one of the “recommended videos”.
So who looks at YouTube’s homepage anyway? I don’t.
Silly Trump… there aren’t any ads on YouTube!
This was Obama’s fault how?
I honestly can’t remember ever having gone to the youtube home page. I’m sure i must have done (say, by accident), but i don’t remember it.
Indeed, the positive way to look at this is that he is going to spend that million dollars to promote Trump in some way, and the only thing we can hope is that the method he chooses is less effective than others that he might choose to spend it on.
Unless of course, just like this article, the media chooses to make his buying YouTube advertising the story itself, in which case he may get several million dollars worth of media exposure for the price of the 1 million dollar media buy.
