Trump DoJ nominee Jon Adler loves Scientology's bogus, occasionally lethal "detox" program

A lot of their big (and little) donors are Trump supporters.

As a whole, Scientologists tend towards the Republicans and their “small government leaving decent folks alone” mythology, figuring that’ll be less regulation on their dodgy scams, quack cures, and ponzi schemes.

However, the Church of Scientology has strategies to work both the Republicans and Democrats. Their biggest gains were under Bill Clinton, who let them use the State Department as a club to beat on allied nations and friendly neutrals. They even forced Sweden to make an express change to their constitution to make Scientology happy. (Imagine what that would take in America.)

But yeah, they like Trump. There was even a tiny pro-Trump blip in the voting near their LA headquarters.

Dude, that’s not "wafers! That’s the literal flesh of a 2,000 year old Middle Eastern revolutionary! Transubstantiation ftw!

“…program that involves taking huge doses of niacin and sitting for hours in a sauna, a practice with no health benefits that has killed some of its practitioners.”

Interesting. I say allow Adler the time required to prove his worthiness and personally demonstrate what the regimen is capable of. At “worst”, his permanent absence from the nomination process would point to some benefit to the DoJ and the health of this Nation.
