Saul’s… tied up… for the forseeable future.
Yeah, her argument is a little askew. She’s saying “All these high-profile lawyers should be rushing to represent an innocent, ex-President, Republican, but they aren’t”-- with the implication that he’s guilty. That’s not the takeaway. Guilty people get great lawyers all the time. The takeaway is that Trump is cuckoo-for-Cocoa-Puffs nuts and unmanageable as a client and/or won’t pay the high-profile retainer fees that accompany high-profile lawyers.
This is one of those Pick Two situations: (i) Worthwhile Case, (ii) Great Client to Work with, (iii) Pays the Bills
If you can’t get at least two of those, forget it. And “Worthwhile” here can mean “client is guilty as fuck, but it will be really cool, high profile (or legally interesting) fight” or, in other contexts “a fight worth losing.”
I don’t even see an argument that there’s even one of these things here with Trump.
This exhaustive listing of all of TFG’s many legal problems might be good to keep ay the bedside and read when you need a pick-me-up
Does he really need quality lawyers? It seens that in virtually any Federal Court in the land, all the way up to SCOTUS, the fix is already in. State cases, in most of the country, would be nullified by the GQP pols before anything was allowed to happen to their Orange God-King.
Trump appointees knocked down tons of his election challenges, at District Court, Appeals Court and, in not granting any kind of stay or emergency order, SCOTUS, too.
