The Washington post has reported that they wanted to move him while he was still able to make the walk to the helicopter unassisted for PR purposes. The White House clinic or whatever they brand it is apparently a lot more basic than most people imagine, there’s a reason Walter Reed is the default for a lot of Presidential medical care.
But that just underlines it. This wasn’t something that could be handled in what’s apparently not far off a standard, out patient, doctors office. And there was a legitimate possibility of them having to wheel the guy out if they waited too long. That isn’t “mild symptoms” or no big deal.
That’s what I’m thinking; they have no idea how a combo pack of all that will affect the system of an obese, elderly man who doesn’t exercise and has a shit diet.
The cast has me almost ready to sign up for another streaming service. Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail? Perfection. And Trashcan is absolutely a perfect metaphor for all the working class acolytes he’s accumulated. Having Flagg’s followers go against their own interests in an effort to take down a Black woman and her allies is just too on the nose for our current times.
