The Netherlands has the health infrastructure to attempt building herd immunity.
The USA does not. We are already critically low on necessary health supplies.

Wow, I had always kind of clumped the Netherlands in with Scandinavia in terms of having sane enlightened governance. Sounds like theyve drunk the same koolaid as the UK.
There’s herd immunity, and then there’s resistance to new, unusual scientific data. I would have thought the asymptomatic spreading would have gotten leaders to rethink their approach!

So, apparently this message is being sold with the suggestion that if the US is not put back to work pronto pronto it will be the cause of thousands of suicides.
Now, there’s a neat deflection - instead of Trump’s inaction causing the untimely death of potentially millions - it is those who expect sensible measures to reduce the spread of the virus who are to be blamed for a suicide epidemic.
That message also gives many people permission to top themselves. It’s expected. G’head.
Let’s face it, President Canute knows all you bedraggled pit ponies are expendable - for goodness sake, you were gonna die anyway.
