Trump pleads not guilty on 34 counts — but of course

Yeah, I have no idea if Bragg has plans to go after other aspects of Trump’s businesses. I think that a tax evasion case might be better tackled on the Federal level… but really, I want him to go down for crimes related to the presidency. That seems more important for preserving democracy, to me.

We have to hope there will be a next time. (The amount of hand-wringing and general drama over this one…)

Well, I think there’s a difference between “they won’t indict this guy, because there’s an idea that he should be ‘untouchable,’ even though that’s not based in law,” and “in these circumstances, here’s consistently what the sentence ends up being, given the law.”

Love the Beau piece:

There were a couple of people in Congress who showed up. One being Santos, and one being … ah, I don’t remember her name even though everybody keeps giving her free press for some reason. The Space Laser lady.

It would make sense to go after him at state and federal levels for the tax evasion, so that a hypothetical future GOP presidential administration can’t pardon those away. They could do so for the federal charges but not the state charges.

DECEMBER 4th??? They couldn’t move a few things on the ol’ calendar to get this in in less than 8 months? Especially knowing he will 100% come up with some reason why he cannot make the hearing.

The comments button directing back to the article is a continuing bug. Not sure how it happens so often.

Is Kevin trying for the award for the worst member of Congress ever with the last name McCarthy? That bar’s set pretty damn high right now but if Kevin keeps digging into the hole the GOP has dug for themselves I’m sure he can wrap around.

I swear thst Fuckstick’s unconcealed eagerness to rip off his bootlicking authoritarian supporters is part of his appeal to them, “It is an honor to be cheated and robbed by someone so wonderful! When he exploits us, we share vicariously in his puissance!”

All mixed in with an element of “If he’s willing to treat us so badly, his own supporters, imagine how much worse he’ll treat [those people]!”

Is it just me, or do his lawyers look and act exactly like mafia in the movies?

Did he have to declare “not guilty” 34 times? Cuz that would be delicious.

I could see him becoming increasing enraged after every declaration, and then by declaration number, oh say 16, he goes all A Few Good Men and exclaims “YOU’RE DAMN RIGHT I’M GUILTY AND ID DO IT AGAIN CUZ IT WAS A PERFECT NDA!!11!!!”

Also delicious (especially for Melania) is that the date of certain criminal acts is Valentine’s Day.

ever since the change a couple of months ago where there’s only a paragraph per post on the Blog page, it seems more comment links than not are broken. ( probably something about what page it thinks is the “real” page, now that there’s an intermediate layer between the blog and the comments )

honestly, id pay money to never see his picture again. i find it truly creepy to see his human skin poking through the orange sheen.

though, if i have to see him, i guess the mugshot will do. or a prison jumpsuit.

( on a more more pleasant note: happy cake day! could just be a rumor, but i hear the prosecutor picked today as a present  )

I’ve mentioned it a few times to the contact eddress at the top of this page but never got any feedback. It happens more often on weekends.
