I have the feeling that he nearly messed up the operation with his Syrian pull-out in all ignorance, not knowing (until the last minute, because they know he can’t keep a secret) how disastrous the timing was. It’s the only explanation for why he didn’t leak something in a wee-hours text before now. And we know the military and intelligence agencies have already indicated that they’re holding back because he’s as leaky as a sieve.
