It doesn’t have to be, unless the behavior is self-evident. Alas, since denial that they are driving trollies is one of the classic behaviors of a concern trolley, the vehemence of your posts simply reinforces our certitude about the behavior, rather the same way that every time we see a black duck it reinforces our certitude that all swans are white (equivalently, that all non-white things are not swans).
the implication that I must be a Trump supporter, a misogynist.
Ah, but you see, if you admitted to being a Trump supporter then that would be prima facie evidence that you were not concern driving trollies.
Absent such an admission, your best bet is probably to mix things up by going to another thread, posting under a different moniker, and quoting Zizek instead of Baudrillard. And that’s the honest truth-perception.
It’s only “self evident” in this case if you’re heavily biased towards that particular mode of thinking, which clearly you are. It’s certainly no objective measurement.
I actually laughed out loud at that. We’ve now entered into the territory of Poe’s Law where I can no longer tell if you’re being serious. If you are then… god help you.
Hey maybe you can use this a some sort of meta-test to determine whether I meant anything I said. Just gotta devise a measure of the probability of a Trump supporter referencing Baudrillard.
The thread I just came from reminded me of the Delta Airlines incident in which a man became unresponsive on a flight and the flight crew called for medical personnel to identify themselves. A black woman M.D. was repeatedly told to sit down because she wasn’t really a doctor, didn’t have credentials on her to prove it, etc., but then an older white man stood up and the flight attendant actually told the black woman to sit down because now they had REAL doctor to help. Didn’t even ask him for his credentials.
It’s interesting to note exactly WHEN in a crisis situation it is important for all "t"s to be crossed and all "i"s to be dotted, and when it’s possible to move forward with appropriate speed to deal with the situation at hand.
If only 99 (or only 9,999, or 999,999) Trump supporters would agree to repealing the 19th Amendment, does that mean the “whole truth” is that we don’t have to worry about the issue?
See, it’s not a real problem if it’s about women or POC… it’s only a real problem when it impacts the bottom lines of white men. Duh! /s
But seriously, given that there was anyone who agreed with this notion should be shocking to any of us. Unfortunately, there are some who will give this shit a pass and then deny it’s connected to any real world consequences, largely because the consequences are taken out on the bodies and minds of someone who is NOT them.
There are big differences in those numbers, but if 99 out of all of America’s Trump supporters agreed on the concept, who cares? There are more people in the country that believe in a flat Earth than that, and they have no power whatsoever. If it’s 9,999, that could be a worrying sign of a growing belief. If it’s almost a million that would be alarming and a valid cause to raise awareness about. But all signs in this particular case point to situation being more like the 99 scenario.
