Trump the Chump (Part 2)

Sounds like the guy had a concept of a plan…

Right? They did their fucking jobs. They saw the potential threat before it became a real threat, and dealt with the threat. Trump never got anywhere close to being in range of the shooter. I’m sure these kind of things probably happen way more often than we’d like to think and they are kept as quiet as possible so they don’t become a big deal and encourage even more copycats who think, “I’ll do better next time!”

Some asshat Republican congressman on CNN this morning was saying, “you know, Carter and Bush just don’t need the kind of security Trump does” without the intellectual capacity to wonder even for a moment why that may be the case.

Maybe it’s because Trump is the guy who chooses to play in his wide open golf course surrounded by 3 sides by public lands. The guy who chooses to sow hate, stoke rage, and <insert other tired cliche here> at every opportunity. The guy who knowingly and willingly participates in risky behavior. Taxpayers shouldn’t have to foot the bill for his negligence any more than they already are.

All these Republicans like the guy on CNN this morning going apeshit about how “Trump needs more security!!!” are just losing the plot. How about “if the so-called billionaire Trump wants more ‘security’, he can fucking pay for it himself”.

Zoom in: The authors identify three main sources of Trump’s wealth, adding up to more than $1 billion. None appear to have anything to do with his acumen as a real estate tycoon or entrepreneur:

  1. There’s the roughly $400 million Trump inherited from his father, as they reported in 2018. A lot of that was plowed into money-losing businesses, including failed casinos and an airline.
  2. He cashed in on “The Apprentice,” from both being on the show and then licensing deals where he endorsed various products. His appeal to advertisers was enhanced based on a portrayal of him that was manufactured by the TV show’s producers. (Read that reporting here.)
  3. A New York real estate deal that he tried, and failed, to get out of ultimately wound up being profitable.

Between the lines: The book takes down decades of business reporting that portrayed Trump as a successful New York City builder who was a millionaire, even a billionaire — before he had come into that money.

  • That includes a 1970s NYT article claiming he was worth hundreds of millions when at the time he was simply working with his father’s money and telling people it was his.

  • Mike Wallace — one of the most prominent journalists of the time — teed up a segment on Trump in 1985 like this: “[T]here’s a new billionaire in town. Trump’s the name. Donald Trump.”

  • Only a few years before Forbes had estimated his net worth at over $600 million, the authors note. At the time, it wasn’t true.

He publicly claimed he was wearing bullet proof vest in public appearance since 2015, even before having access to secret service as president/ex-president. He knows what game he got himself into.

Does she think that felons aren’t allowed to travel interstate? Seems like that would be bad news for your boyfriend’s campaign, Loomer.

A little bit of governmental passive aggressiveness from the Secret Service perhaps?

Gifts passed out by Secret Service representatives at a university career fair this week.

It’s a stress ball in the shape of a golf ball just days after the Trump assassination attempt at a golf course.
