Trump threatens GOP control of Twitter, Facebook: 'We will strongly regulate, or close them down'

Well done!

I just love it how every single one of these fucking idiots like McConnell and Dorsey think that trump is just a fool and they can control him. This guy is the very definition of a crazy person who will stop at nothing to get his way. And if you, just for a second, show that you don’t adore him, you are done and he will come after you with everything he has. Now, imagine him staying in power for, let’s say, a decade - you get your typical brutal tyrant like Idi Amin, Saddam Hussein or whoever else likes to kill and eat people for looking at him the wrong way. The history is full of examples where cruel tyrants were initially severely underestimated by their handlers. Underestimated until it was too late.

Interesting name for a dog offered to Trump… with Gen. Patton having been a racist, anti-Semitic, bully.

The fact that the president is unhinged continues to be newsworthy, even though it’s not really new. The press simply can’t ignore the crazy. At this point we are all rubberneckers of the catastrophe of this administration. So yes, no matter where he spews his crazy, the media will follow him. Until he is ex-president, then we can all ignore his ignorance and arrogance.

wow, this one post (almost) confirms my theory that Fox News hiring and casting comes from a finely-tuned analysis of Trump’s blonde bombshell “type”

More like Roger Ailes’s type. So, really, not far off.

Final thought before I retire. I like to think that I don’t indulge in shadenfreude.
But I must confess I am a bad man and i’ve never wished on it anyone and so much too regarding trump aka Baron Harkonnen.
Forgive me lord…

More government regulation of private businesses? I thought conservatives hated that?

Yeah, that’s hysterical. Courts have already ruled that the gov can’t strip away protections when you give organizations other benefits (FCC vs. League of Women Voters, 1984). And “editorializing” (which is never mentioned in section 230) is free speech.

He’s apparently also basing this somewhat on another court case where North Carolina had passed a law banning sex offenders from social media, and a child molester challenged it all the way to SCotUS. The law was overturned. But that’s the literal definition of government impinging on free speech rights and has no basis in case law regarding private individuals or entities. I’m completely unsure of what the logic is beyond “you can’t stop me from being a complete lying sack of criminal shit,” which is quite the flex.

As I said on a different thread, we’re fucked

Content moderation will be seen as “censorship”. The only solution will be to nuke everything.

It was nice knowing you people.

Trump is just a weak person trying to flex, while reality bites his ass every three seconds. His truthiness got instantly old 3.5 years ago when he tried to tell us the pictures of his inauguration had tens of thousands more people in them than what our eyes actually saw.

Twitter is a cesspool, but it’s a private company. “We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.”

Hit the road, Trump. You’re stinkin’ up the house.

It’s distraction. So long as he’s in the news, and not about COVID-19, it’s a win.

Trump has a history of not paying. I suggest becoming a Soros shill instead.

(Very much :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: indeed.)

Persecution envy is a hell of a drug, and does worse things to your moral integrity than meth to your physical one.
