Gonna drain that swamp any day now…
Is anyone actually surprised by this? I thought not.

" $250,000 for those who wanted to participate in a policy roundtable with the president"
At least we’ll finally get an answer to the intractable policy question of Big Mac vs Whopper.
Fortunately, even stacked the way that it is, the SC is unlikely to pay any attention. Unlike the Attorney General, Trump can’t fire them.
If he wins in Nov, I suspect we might see an effort to change that…
Trump is flexing his fiat power and hoping for the best. If it doesn’t work, he can blame the left for exerting too much ("so unfair!) influence on the SCOTUS and – therefore – on American culture… but if it works, he gets others to believe that he can get them anything they ask for… as long as they pay up. In terms of his corrupt existence, he loses nothing.
Not that anyone should ever shed a tear for Alphabet / Google, but if Oracle ever wins this case on appeal, it’s a disaster for software development. Google completely re-implemented Java, from scratch. But for its implementation to be useful, it had to use the same API as the Oracle version. Using the same API means that you can write a program to the API and not care about whose implementation executes your code. It’s sort of like VW and Ford both using the same bolt pattern for wheels. You can manufacture wheels to the bolt pattern and they will work with anyone’s car who followed the standard.

Ellison and Trump. May the rot together in a gigantic pile of flaming hot Cheetos dust.
Not so much as draining the swamp so much as turning it into a cesspit.
