Fines? Isn’t this what we have a No-Fly list for?

Seems to me that these are people who have the time and the money to make this a public spectacle in order to make some dumbass point about how we live in a fascist dictatorship under Biden are going to continue to do this shit… I suspect they really believe that they are opposing tyranny and that it’s worth the cost. I wonder how many have thought to themselves “I’m just like Rosa Parks! She’d be so proud!”

That’s for brown people.

Right before you added that I was about to comment it. This is absolutely what they believe.

Flying thru DCA the other day half the TSA there were wearing their masks improperly or not at all. Can we fine them too?

That’s the secret No-Fly list.

These jackasses can go on a public No-Fly list as the offenses that landed them there happened in the public eye.

The only remedy is for the flight to be delayed or diverted, with the other passengers alerted to the full name of the arsehole responsible (who should also be on the hook for the flight’s fuel bill after being escorted off in cuffs by law enforcement).

You have to arrive super early for a security check that is somehow both invasive and security theater, and have your “papers” checked at multiple points - and yet wearing a mask is the bridge too far?

I was just thinking the same thing. They should take a page from high school gym class:

“Alright, everybody off the plane. Your flight has been cancelled. You can thank Karen and Ken over here outside.”

Minimum fines will double, starting at $500, and go up to $3,000 for repeat offenders.

Needs at least one more zero

I wonder if other passengers could sue them for damages? I mean, what if that delay caused you to miss your brother’s wedding, or your grandmother’s funeral, or an important work thing? It’s potentially really fucking up peoples lives (in addition to, you know, potentially killing them with an infectious disease).

I’ve had all that shit happen to me. In the case of important work things, I’ve had that happen several times. Almost like clockwork. I’ve never been able to pin it down to one person causing it. It was always airline related fuckery, and I’ve never had any recourse. They don’t even have complaint numbers. Their attitude is basically “you don’t like it, then fly the other two airlines that operate in the US, which both suck. You don’t like that, then drive 12 hours each way. Get fucked”.

"If there were accountability, and if it could all be traced back to one or two people, especially if those people were powerless schmucks, then hoo boy, look out …

I was only joking when I said they should treat flights like gym class, but I’m liking this idea better and better…

I’m just waiting for them to claim “constitutional carry” rights so they can bring weapons on flights.

Yeah, I’ve had things go awry from either airline mechanical issues or storms, and there’s really nothing to be done other than get whatever vouchers they offer and try to not act like an asshole due to frustration.
But if it was bc some maskhole wouldn’t put a 4” square piece of cloth over his face, I’d be looking to do something!

$HERSELF proposes simply quarantining them until it can be determined if they are contagious, followed by contact notification and tracing. Seventy-two hours should be sufficient.

If that interferes with their flight connections, business meeting, family reunion, or whatever – bad planning I guess.

The TSA can set whatever fines they want. What matters is how much have they COLLECTED. Uncollected debit or plea bargained away is not a deterrent but a badge of honor to these a$$holes.

Rosa parks was singled out because of the color of her skin.
The anti-maskers were singled out because of the “color” of their attitude.
