It has a subreddit, therefore it exists.

No?

Being on tumblr, the ā€œboringā€ part can be safely assumed, so weā€™re talking about something thatā€™s both, here.

#notalltumblr content is necessarily bad. Sometimes good ones appear.

I agreeā€¦ I think tumblr is like just about anything else - itā€™s a platform that probably appeals to some and not others. Some people just get kind of partisan about one platform and another, one social media format or another. Iā€™m kind of flummoxed as to why some people get so upset about itā€¦ If you donā€™t like it, donā€™t go there and if you do, then go there. Seems pretty simple to me.

Iā€™ll probably get kicked in the nuts again for saying it, but this is my main gripe with Tumblr, and why I started following Tumblr in Action: the blogs that arenā€™t achingly dull or just porn blogs tend to be people just saying outrageous things to get pageviews. And on every one of the super-outrageous ones, youā€™ll see hundreds, even thousands, of ā€œblah liked thisā€ and ā€œblah reblogged thisā€.

With no context, you have no idea if the person who ā€œlikesā€ the statement, ā€œWe could have world peace if we killed all the truscum,ā€ is doing so because they think itā€™s a funny troll, they genuinely agree, or theyā€™re using a ā€œlikeā€ as a way to bookmark it, or what; and a lot of the reblogs tend to be, ā€œLook at this wacky thing this person said.ā€

(I just used ā€œtruscumā€ as an example because it seems to be trending with the SJ teenage set right now; please, letā€™s keep the arguing to a minimum. Also, Iā€™m aware that TiA turned into an anti-feminist circlejerk for a while; theyā€™re cracking down on it. Please donā€™t kill me; I donā€™t want to be bannedā€¦can we talk about the chilling effects of removal/banning at some point?)
