However, this tool will set you back $99 for a version-specific license, or $189 for a perpetual licence. For that price, it might be worth considering one of the bigger names.

Windows only and 9,000 brushes – most of which you will never use or even see.
No thanks.

Krita is available for free, with open source dev, and is free.

Also it’s free.

And better. And multiplatform.

If you want vector editing for less than Illustrator I generally hear good things about Affinity Design. I’ll stick with Illustrator though.
