It’s not any kind of astroturfing, it’s PR.

And it does seem a little creepy, though I don’t know if that’s because it’s legitimately sketchy or just novel.

I think they call that job “brand storytellers” now… Edward Bernays is still with us…

“Brand storytellers” just sounds like a specific euphemism for “liar” to me - e.g. someone who fabricates stories about their conspicuous consumption. Well, I guess it is a specific euphemism for liar, just a different kind.
