We use slack and discord
I’m confused by this. Do we mean “Users don’t want to see link content in embeds?” Because I know the uproar caused every time those stop working here on the BBS.
The problem is that not everybody is ready to leave Twitter so we essentially have two chats with the same people, one on Twitter and one on Discord.
It’s not a technical issue, just a social one. Which will end up being resolved one way or another, eventually. But it’s why I’m not ready to fully delete Twitter yet, much as I would like to.
Well, if they won’t leave, they won’t leave and you’ll all have to figure it out eventually. Good luck.
But although I am not a Twitter user I’d never have thought of it as a place for private group chats - which Whatsapp pretty much is. Maybe friends could acknowledge other friends are no longer comfortable on Twitter - they don’t have to leave it, but just install another app for talking to their friends who dislike Twitter. But sometimes resistance takes a long time to crumble. I look forward to the day when Musk and his fanbois are the only ones left there.
WhatsApp isn’t the market dominating app in the US that it is in many places (including Western Europe).
Ok - so here’s its market opportunity!
Xit or get off the pot. Yep.

Sorry, missed this.
I think users might want to see previews, and that previews can be nice, but…
- I don’t want that site to control how the preview appears on this site.
- It’s still a bad trade of user convenience for publisher loss of control, freedom, design consistency, trust, etc.
Links were nice! They did the trick!
(I know that Elon just wants to make links and ads indistinguishable)
