For me the most horrible part is that the US military believes it has a better publicity value to say āBecause of a dozen militants we had to bomb a hospitalā. The spin a few years ago was more like ācollateral damageā.

Indeed, for me it also sounds more like āThey told us to do so, so we didā.
But is bombing a hospital or a school because of militants (told or suspected) not more and more common? And indeed a better spin than ācollateral damageā, because it is not an accident (sigh, so not our fault) but a āWe just had to, becauseā¦ā
