For me the most horrible part is that the US military believes it has a better publicity value to say ā€œBecause of a dozen militants we had to bomb a hospitalā€. The spin a few years ago was more like ā€œcollateral damageā€.

Indeed, for me it also sounds more like ā€˜They told us to do so, so we didā€™.

But is bombing a hospital or a school because of militants (told or suspected) not more and more common? And indeed a better spin than ā€˜collateral damageā€™, because it is not an accident (sigh, so not our fault) but a ā€˜We just had to, becauseā€¦ā€™
