Yikes! That is some terrifying footage. The aftermath didn’t look that bad but seeing it go was something. It even scared my dog.

This sinkhole appeared in the parking lot of the building that I was helping to renovate.

Well - isn’t this a coincidence, we got a potential problem of stuff build on mines as well.

I am guessing it is north of I-70, as I know there are several former mines used for storage (and paintball!) in that area.

That’s where they went wrong. You want coal mines for good football.

The golf course in my home town (Washington, PA) was built over a disused coal mine. Over one winter a significant fraction of the mine collapsed, completely rewriting the overlying topography. The course had to quickly rearrange and realign some of the holes to compensate for the changed in terrain.
