UK general election discussion thread - Post Mortem

Is Theresa May trying to help IDS get mentally ill people off disability benefits by doing her job while she is clearly insane?

Has she proposed anything that would work anywhere other than North Korea since Friday?

Or not.

I’m glad that smarmy little prick isn’t in the running any more, at least.

Still doesn’t solve anything. There’s absolutely nobody in the running who looks like they could rescue this situation. But I’m not sure if anyone could do that.

True. They deserve everything that’s happened to them. Problem is, we don’t.

IMO, what really swung it for Cameron was not appearing on the debates. He’d have been fucked if he’d actually had to answer questions about the last five years. Everyone should have boycotted them til he agreed to appear, or made far more capital out of the fact he didn’t.

This lady fucking nails it: https://stevetopple.wordpress.com/2015/05/13/so-listen-to-me-well-labour-party-because-if-you-get-this-wrong-again-you-will-be-done-for-once-and-for-all/

I suppose it was inevitable- Circular firing squad, assemble!

With the Labour Party leadership candidates seemingly abandoning anything that looks left wing I think the left is fucked for the next few years regardless.

I think the last threads holding my belief in representative democracy have snapped. I’m never going to get any government who even vaguely looks like they have anything close to my political views, I don’t even believe in a centralised national government. It’s time to stop lying to myself and focus on other political action.
