"… if a ‘bad person’ were holding a baby hostage and would kill the infant if I didn’t give it everything we had - even our clothes - that I would give them what they want. "
Never give in to terrorists. Never. The child is a necessary scacrifice to show our determination and grit.
Miasm, “Proof! That Socialised medicine leads to the state-mandated implementation of Death Panels.”? your disgusting post aside. Your ill-informed tangent has no basis in reality. You obviously have no idea about universal health care, the NHS, The UK or intelligence. Please research subjects before you proceed on a moronic rant next time you imbecile.
Don’t twist the knife. Is your point in posting this comment some personal goal to ‘win’ the argument or a desire to add to the conversation. If it is the former, you might want to delete your comment as well.
tl;dr=can’t we all just get along? Simple answer seems to be no. It’s also pretty hard to withdraw from the system. Not able to get out and not willing to join in with the looting leaves you standing static in the middle of a sea of human lunacy, trying desperately to help others whilst holding your own head above the rising tide of greed and idiocy that is increasingly seen as the normal way of things. I can’t even see any way out. Trying to lead by example only goes so far and doesn’t seem to dent the opposition…
Is there a government on the planet that doesn’t act as if it actively hates it’s populace?
Bill and Ted knew a thing or two, “Be excellent to each other!”
That’s not even remotely true. The BBC is, yes. But there’s still another four terrestrial channels and every last newspaper (not that they’re any better, mind).
Slightly rhetorical, but don’t forget the state owns Channel 4 too, and BBC radio has massive dominance. BBC local radio, for example, is nearly always the dominant local media where its present, particularly for news coverage, with those commercial radio stations that remain tending to have very small news team indeed, with little program time dedicated to speech anyway. RAJAR figures shows that 66% of the UK population, 35m, listens to BBC radio, compare that to the 13m who regularly read a newspaper, or the 1.6m who watch Sky news. You might not like Murdoch owning the Sun, Times and Sky, but that’s tiny compared to the BBC’s footprint.
I would have donated to help pay for his flight. The negative economic value of a Nigerian immigrant is in the millions. Whatever it costs, get them out of Europe. If they don’t take the easy way out, Europe will sooner or later follow the path of Greece and end in civil war, and then immigrants will be leaving by some ways much less comfortable than a private plane.
