Fuck him, just like Cameron, taking the Uk over a cliff edge, then abandoning it to take some cushy consultant job.

Yeah it’s gotta be something akin to… shoot the monkey (trump), banana (farage) drops down the chute, surprises the chicken (possibly gove) triggers the catapult of brexit sensitive corporate heads (fat cats) and … cummings is slid out the door. let’see Brit for Rube Goldberg is Heath Robinson if’n i recall correctly

The EU has the UK by the proverbial “very sensitive parts”, caving is usually what happens. Boris finally has to face reality and his cronies don’t so there is going to be a gap.

There’s also Biden’s comments on the UK government proposing to rip up the Good Friday Agreement, and subsequent Tory MPs condescending responses to bear in mind, so I’d like to think that he’s going so they can quietly cave in

The sad part is that this asshole Cummings is not yet gone.

The Guardian has this to say:

Cummings and Cain will continue to work for Downing Street until mid-December, with one source saying Cummings would be “working from home for six weeks”.
[…]
On Friday morning it was confirmed that Cummings was planning to leave by the end of the year following a bitter row over his close ally Cain. Cain’s promotion from head of communications to chief of staff was blocked by Johnson’s fiancee, Carrie Symonds, and other staffers this week, leading him to quit.

And also this:

“[Cain and Cummings’] downfall was their failure to work through a pretty easy piece of logic that if you appoint somebody to be the prime minister’s public face, they will require a lot of access to the prime minister,” said Rutter. “Nobody taking that job would put their reputation on the line repeating whispers permeating through a couple of layers of people who do get access – and if you couldn’t see that coming you are nuts.”

Is Brexit actually going to happen now? From the outside it seems like everybody is stalling and dragging their feet in the hopes that the UK will change their mind at the last minute or something.

It seems like nobody is actually working out the details (or if they are, they’re getting ignored shortly afterward) and just kind of let Jesus take the wheel of the entire country.

Brexit happened on the 31st of January 2020 at 23:00 h london time (24:00 h Brussels time) and cannot be reversed.

The UK is enjoying the second extension of the transition period which will end on the 31st of December

This period was meant to be used to finish the negotiation of the future relationship with the EU, which was looking unlikely to be successful until now.

The UK has tried everything but the EU has not moved much and now there is only 2 outcomes. Leave without a deal and wreck the economy or sign whatever they are offered and try to sell it as a win

It looks like the second option is more likely now

It’s the worst game of poker ever.

We got dealt an off suit 2 and a 7, and the EU knows it. We should have folded, but some idiots in power went all in.

It’s not incumbent on the EU to move at all. Brexit was a unilateral decision made by a bunch of morons and bigots and predatory Tories (predaTories?). The Leavers will now have to take whatever deal the EU gives them if they want to have a merely bad economy instead of a completely wrecked one.

The best deal is being a member of the EU

If that’s not what you want, of course your other choices are not going to be as good

Maybe you could create your own European Union, and make a better deal with that one
