A squirrel was hanging around my grandma’s back porch one day while mom and I were housesitting for her. There was a wide variety of nuts in a big bowl in the kitchen, and peanuts in the shell, and I watched mom put out peanuts, walnuts, Brazil nuts, almonds, etc a few at a time for them. It was quite entertaining for us, and the squirrel was most enthusiastic re: this unexpected and exotic largess. Some nuts were conveyed from the scene, while others were consumed in situ. All three of us were very happy, but then mom was truly inspired.
There was also A Coconut on the premises, so mom put it out on the back porch. She hadn’t cracked it or anything.
The squirrel went out of their little mind! They first sniffered it all over, then began clawing and gnawing at it, and finally wound up spread eagle on top of it 
We were naturally much amused by this display, and mom brought the coconut back in, leaving a big pile of peanuts to occupy the squirrel while she worked on the coconut. She drove a nail into it and drained the milk, which tiny MerelyGifted V much enjoyed. She then grabbed the hammer and broke it up into manageable pieces for the three of us. She put the smallest pieces out on the porch for the squirrel, who, on their return, joyfully began nomming the coconut’s delicious insides.
