According to the reddit article yesterday, he was a jailer with a different county so wouldn’t have any standing at all where he committed the crime.

I’m surprised the cops coming didn’t cause some kind of bloody massacre. They are cops after all. And the white mob said they were after a black kid. And cops aren’t smart or ethical.
