That’s because of the typical right-wing paranoid “my way or the highway” mindset. In their binary black and white world you are either with them or against them.
Right-wingers tend to react to change with more fear and apprehension and only feel safe when their guys are in control.
I grew up in a right-wing family and I saw this mindset firsthand. It’s scary thing to try to talk sense with them.
It also doesn’t help when they have hate jocks on radio and certain cable news outlets whipping them into a frenzy. I can only hope that they accept their coming big loss with a minimum of ranting and self-examination with out resorting to childish violent tantrums.
