Let me know when the get around to charging someone for criminal abuse of our data (not properly securing it, selling it without authorization, etc.).

Convenient explanation. Blame the hack on four unknown people who are beyond reach of justice, and imply a foreign government is responsible.
Let’s start with protecting ourselves, instead of blaming others for our own inability to safeguard these information assets.
