I suppose. It’s a major public school system in one of the most progressive cities in the country.

This would seem to back up my assertions that it’s a common practice (though saying “every school system” may have been a bit of an exaggeration).

You know that meme with the dog sitting having coffee surrounded by flames - that’s you.

Any society that reacts to someone taking an easily available weapon that is an assault rifle in every characteristic except that you can’t select fire, entering a school and killing 21 people while what in other countries would be considered oppressive levels of paramilitary police forces stand around doing nothing by saying “the doors should have been locked” is deeply fucked up.

In this scenario, the doors are so insignificant on the scale of “things gone wrong” as to be invisible to an electron microscope.

And especially delusional to boot, considering that not many years before nearly the exact same thing happened at a different elementary school where the shooter very quickly got through the locked entrance and killed 26 people.
