As noted elsewhere, they’re not big on verbs. So “based on scientific evldence” should fly through the filters. “Fetus” is a bit trickier but “prenatal greater than — weeks gestation” might work. Since “Trans” is a term used freaking EVERY where in medicine (e.g. " trans cranial" good luck banning it.
Just use cover pages with pretty pictures. Start the bad words on page two. He’ll never know.
Edit: This post belonged back in the other thread and isn’t relevant to this one. So, removed.
Note that I was talking about vaccines, not general trust in science.
There you go again.
Then please know that your linked article was talking about general trust in science, not vaccines exclusively.
It was a very good read, that article. Thank you for that.
Yeah, anti-vaxxers seem to be an equal-opportunity crackpots.
On the left, they’re a mix of “It’s not natural!” hippie types and the kind of people who buy into Indigo Children nonsense and such, and conspiracy theory types who think it’s all about Big Pharma ruthlessly profiteering even if gives our children autism.
On the right, it seems to be mostly a combination of the “You can’t tell me what to do!” types who are mad that the governments and medical community tell them to vaccinate their children, and the conspiracy theorists of the chemtrails set, who ramble on about NWO plans to reduce population and so on.
I have no idea which are more common, left- or right-wing anti-vaxxers, but I’ve definitely encountered both.
The Jehovah’s Witnesses have been banned in the Russian Federation precisely because of their anti science approach to medicine. There was a crisis after the fall of Socialism caused in part by Western fruitcakes going to Russia to spread the word, outbreaks of diphtheria, measles and tuberculosis. Even yoga practitioners have been arrested for promoting alternative medicine. The epidemics seem now to be under control. Sanctions mean the RF cannot afford the cost of disease outbreaks.
You might find this entertaining:

Other than the Scientologists and Donald Trump? Centre-left to centre-right. There are anti-vaxxers on the far left but they tend to be primitivists.
Do we still have Posadism?
Absolutely. The whole GOOP contingent is more or less anti-vaccination because they prefer “natural” remedies and think that vaccination is just a part of Evil Big Pharma – those type of people would definitely be considered politically liberal even if they’re dumb as rocks.
There is very little about the JW’s I find entertaining, except general ignorance.
The last time they called I didn’t realise it was them till I had opened the door. They asked me if I wanted to know the truth of the Bible.
Me: Yes, OK, I will listed to you if you can tell me the first line of the Book of Bereshith.
Them: What has that got to do with it?
Me: Not today, thank you.
The people selling anti-vaxx and other quackery tend to be pretty opportunistic about political positioning. They position themselves towards the right when they want less government interference in their snake-oil business, but will quickly swing when when they see a chance of tapping government money or want to use some civil rights argument.
I don’t know about the customers, but Gwyneth Paltrow and Goop are New Age, not left wing. I can find no evidence for Gwyneth Paltrow actually being left wing beyond the highly questionable far right rumour mill.
Left wing of capitalism, maybe.
And just a reminder, the US overton window is normalising fascism so I will not recognise it as valid.
I think that you’ll find very few new-age nature worshippers who are Trump fans. If any.
If left wing is simply “not a fan of Trump”, that supports the overton window comment quite nicely.
As Trump is far-right, that leaves plenty of political views before you get to socialism. As I said in my comment
That’s cute, but it isn’t what I said.
Again, the Goop crowd is socially left-wing and most definitely not a conservative-leaning group. Overton window bla bla bla.
Okay, I was commenting on the narrow spectrum of US political ideology. Cute, and blah blah aren’t particularly solid points of argument, so I’ll just leave it as you prefer to view the spectrum through the US capitalistic lens, and bid you a fair voyage. Enjoy your “democracy”.
Please stop putting words in my mouth.
The things you claim I’m saying are not true. But I’m glad you feel smug about lying!
