I recall a flurry of news about the highly dubious quality of the content-flagging bot, but this is the first I’ve heard of Tumblr since then. I thought things were mostly back to business as usual. I guess not. (I guess none of the projects proposed as an alternative to Tumblr never took off either?)

Tumblr still has some worthwhile content (e.g., MacMansion Hell) but its robocensors seem to be crap, even within their own absurd parameters. My Tumblr feed currently shows plenty of “female presenting nipples” (yay!) and far too much “cumshotfactory” (yik) for my taste. Things were better before the filter, when the “porn” included genuinely amusing stuff like vintage pin-ups, Spiderpool frolics, tattooed punkettes and other harmless nonsense.

All this has done is get rid of the interesing boutique and fetish porn. Now all that’s left is the most lowest common denominator low grade stuff.

I’ve got a book with 101 uses for a dead cat…
Personally, I see so many dead animals alongside the road, birds, deer, badgers, hedgehogs, that I’m not particularly upset by that photo.
I’m more upset by seeing dead hedgehogs, because I have them come into my garden, and their numbers have dropped dramatically nationwide.
