Vet-turned-congressman claims expertise in women's health care from animal ultrasounds

Of course his experience as a vet qualifies him to prognosticate on OB/GYN care. After all, women aren’t really people deserving full human rights. I mean that zygote might have a Y chromosome and so no matter how few cells it has and how undifferentiated they are, you have to protect them, even if that might result in the death of the “woman.” /s

You’re being diploidist, every haploid gamete is technically (based on some definitions) a life form , and human, making it quite tricky/impossible to be a male and not responsible for quite a lot of negligent homicide.

Actually spent a lot of time studying chicken embryology in grad school, ultrasound is a really low resolution way of observing embryos. Looking at thousands of chick embryos through a microscope has not given me insight into women’s healthcare, beyond my continual appreciation of “life is complicated” and just when you thought you had a handle on some insight “life is more complicated than your previous understanding of life, when you were already thinking it was really complicated”.

I wonder if he’s even imaging technologist certified.

Oh he definitely need to shut up, yeah. But even if he were one, his opinion it still shouldn’t matter, because whether a given fetus “counts” as a human for the purpose of various specific legal and moral questions is not, itself, a biological or medical question.

“I’ve seen a lot of dicks in my life, so feel qualified in stating with no qualms that Viagra isn’t healthcare.”

(I don’t mean to belittle the danger of his stance. There doesn’t seem to be a male-specific equivalent to what they’re forcing women to endure. Evil fucks.)
