This is why you need practical effects in addition to CG. CG has never roped the escaped cow.

“Immediately after the capture, it was revealed that the two local Oklahoma cowboys were actually trying to sue the cow for a suspicious ‘miscarriage’ earlier in the week.”

Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’
Rollin’, rollin’, rollin’

Keep movin’, movin’, movin’
Though they’re disapprovin’
Keep them dogies* movin’
Rawhide!
Don’t try to understand ‘em
Just rope and throw and brand ‘em
Soon we’ll be living high and wide.
My heart’s calculatin’
My true love will be waitin’
Be waiting at the end of my ride.

Move 'em on, head 'em up
Head 'em up, move 'em on
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Rawhide!
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in
Ride 'em in, let 'em out
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in
Rawhide!

Loose livestock is not uncommon and even in Austin, the NPR affiliate has issued traffic safety bulletins during morning and evening drive times.

The ropers did a fine job and thank goodness no one was hurt.
Glad that cow was not running full tilt when caught.

Humans may have spent many generations breeding livestock to be slower, heavier, dumber and less agile than the early wild animal ancestors, but that doesn’t always make roping livestock easy. That clip was the tail end of many hours of practice, on horseback.
