Insulting to piggy wigs, but I’ll allow it
I’ve been seeing/hearing gammon a lot lately when checking out UK political vids. Thanks for the definition.

I’m most familiar as gammon referring to bacon.

Huh. That’s US slang relating to police, usually “I smell bacon,” or variations thereof.

Referring to the police as “pigs” goes back at least a century, so not terribly surprised that many variations on the theme exist. I tend to not use those as it insults the animals and I don’t want that unappetizing idea associated with a delicious meat.
