Remember that Volvo is owned by Geely, a Chinese automaker. Also their cars aren’t boxy anymore for like a decade or more.

They are, but Geely seem to have done a good job at it, by giving Volvo financial backing and letting them get on making good cars. Tata have done the same with JLR, now with a solid lineup of cars and seem to be doing very well compared to the state the companies have traditionally been in.
Hopefully Lotus will benefit in the same way.
Seriously can’t see a Jag driver and not question their decision to buy ever since this film.
