Back in those days I used to do some work for major labels and it was very clear that there was both a chilling effect in that pretty much every label instituted a policy of either not releasing content which would have to have the label or producing sanitized versions for mass market sales and a negative sales impact on material with a warning label. This also affected smaller labels who signed distribution deals with the majors as they in turn had to alter content or distribute on their own.
Is this the âbestâ Iâve got? Probably not, but it is what it is. If you think I got nothin, great.
The fact that they are unwilling to adress this betrays their intentions. Fuck them. Let them crawl back to their holes. Funnily enough, theyâve been slowly crawling back to /v after they noticed maybe 8chan is a bit bad for pr, and nobody fucking wants them back. Itâs kind of beautiful.
Do you honestly believe that what sarkeesian and indie developers make are the âsanitizedâ version of videogames? Have you even seen call of duty? They are sandblasted to a perfectly innocuous polish. Youâve all got it backwards.
Iâve watched her videos, and I know a large number of people in the games industry. Let me tell you, it is 99% the gamers that think that. While the developers I know may disagree with a few specific points, they donât feel the least bit offended by her videos. In fact, I know a few companies that have had her as a speaking guest.
Also, itâs not âcherry-pickingâ when one says âHere is a specific example of a woman being murdered to further the plotâ and then shows specific examples. Thatâs ⌠how you do examples.
I wouldnât worry about it too much. I see Falcor has been eating sock puppets again. (Must give terrible indigestion, though - the nutritional value has got to be worse than your average Big MacâŚ)
Well, yes. It only becomes âobviously toxicâ when we get sock puppets driving trollies us - GG sock puppets make anything toxic. Most of the world understands that now.
But then again, there is an announcement played quite regularly on the NYC subways that a crowded train is no excuse for molesting people around you, which would suggest that this isnât necessarily a âJapanese problemâŚâ
